Emergency Information, Videos & Instructions

Orthodontic emergencies can occur at any point during your orthodontic treatment.  Many times these emergencies may include a broken bracket or wire, loose attachment or button, poking wire, or loose band/appliance.   Many orthodontic emergencies may be taken care of at home to help hold you over until you are able to be seen by our practice.  In the case of a true orthodontic emergency which may include trauma, severe pain or bleeding, you can reach our on-call Orthodontic Assistant during non-business hours at 443-608-4172.  This emergency on-call line is a textable line, so that you may be able to send photos to our assistant to help walk you through handling the orthodontic emergency in question.

The videos and the PDF document below will help walk you through how to handle orthodontic emergencies or irritations until you can be seen in our office.  We will do our best to have you return to our office to repair broken braces/appliances as soon as it is possible and safe to do so.
