Meet Dr. Wang
Dr. Yoonhee Ahn Wang was born and raised in South Korea. After immigrating to the United States at age 20 and enrolling in a local community college, she quickly advanced in her studies and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in both Molecular/Cellular Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Yoonhee then earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude and earning awards from the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Oral Medicine, and Special Care Dentistry Association.
She further continued her dental education by completing a General Practice Residency at the Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, providing dental care to medically-complex patients in the emergency room, trauma bays, inpatient wards, and intensive care units. Through working alongside interdisciplinary teams, Dr. Yoonhee became fascinated by how each person’s skeletal and dental growth is unique and requires careful, individualized attention in order to achieve the best outcomes. To pursue her dream of providing highly personalized care to patients of all ages with the most evidence-based techniques available, she decided to apply her skills toward the field of Orthodontics. Dr. Yoonhee completed an Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Residency at the University of Pennsylvania, during which time she was recognized for her excellence in clinical care by the Rouff Orthodontic Scholarship Award.
Dr. Yoonhee loves being a part of the AGO family and of each patient’s journey toward finding their best smile. She strongly believes that a radiant smile can empower not just the self, but also the community.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and her professional affiliations include the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO).
Dr. Yoonhee resides in Howard County with her husband. They enjoy exploring their community and enjoy cooking, reading, and eating Maryland crabs.
